SHOP FAVORITE: GOLDEN ACRYLICS and MEDIUMS

We are very excited to now have Golden Acrylic Paints and Mediums on our shelves! These professionally grade paints are perfect for the seasoned and student artist.  Read more about these paints below:

GOLDEN OPEN ACRYLICS

The relaxed working characteristics and versatility of Golden OPEN Acrylics allow artists to explore a wider range of techniques such as portraiture and landscape painting that rely on softening, shading, glazing and creating fine detail. OPEN Acrylics resist skinning and remain wet on the palette for extended periods while exhibiting a remarkable versatility that allows them to be used directly from the tube for outdoor painting, monoprinting and screenprinting. OPEN Acrylics may be blended with GOLDEN Acrylics, Mediums and Gels, with the open time of the resulting mixtures being proportionately reduced. To maintain the maximum working time of OPEN Acrylics, use OPEN Mediums and Thinner.

In our shop, we have a 40 color display of individual 4 fl. oz. jars of OPEN Acrylics. The colors range in price from $15.99-$35.99

GOLDEN OPEN ACRYLIC SETS

We also have Golden OPEN Traditional Color Sets and Golden OPEN Modern Color Sets (both shown above) in which each contains six 3/4 fl. oz. tubes. The Traditional Color Set includes Indian Yellow Hue, Alizarin Crimson Hue, Ultramarine Blue, Sap Green Hue, VanDyke Brown Hue, and Titanium White. The Modern Color Set includes Hansa Yellow Opaque, Pyrrole Red, Quinacridone Magenta, Phthalo Blue (green shade), Phthalo Green (blue shade), and Titanium White. The sets are $32.99 each.

GOLDEN FLUID ACRYLICS

No fillers or extenders are added to this formulation to achieve the desired consistency. Similar to heavy cream in thickness, Fluid Acrylics allow for smooth flowing applications while retaining color intensity, tinting strength, film integrity, and adhesion. Fluid acrylics are extremely versatile, and ideal for many creative applications.

In our shop, we have a 36 color display of individual 4 fl. oz. bottles of the Golden Fluid Acrylics which range in price from $12.99-$29.99 each.

GOLDEN ORIGINAL ACRYLICS

This original Golden line is known for exceptionally smooth, thick consistency. It contains the largest assortment of unique pure pigments in a 100% acrylic emulsion. These colors offer very good or excellent permanency and lightfastness. There are no fillers, extenders, opacifiers, toners, or dyes added.

In our shop, we have the above Golden Original Acrylic set which include six 3/4 fl. oz. tubes in Naphthol Red Light, Hansa Yellow Medium, Ultramarine Blue, Permanent Green Light, Mars Black, and Titanium White. The set is $26.99.

GOLDEN GELS, MEDIUMS, and THINNER

Use Open Acrylic Gel to adjust color strength and translucency while maintaining consistency and maximum working time. Open Acrylic Gel is available in Matte or Gloss. ($17.99/8 fl. oz. jar)

Use Open Acrylic Medium to adjust color strength and translucency while producing more fluid mixtures with increased flow. Open Acrylic Medium is available in Matte or Gloss.($10.99/4 fl. oz. bottle)

Open Thinner replaces materials that evaporate from paint on the palette during long painting sessions. Use Open Thinner to adjust and maintain the working properties of colors and reduce brush drag. ($5.99/1 fl. oz. bottle, $11.99/4 fl. oz. bottle)

SHOP FAVORITE: WATERCOLOR SETS

This week our shop favorite is the collection of new Watercolor Paint Sets we've recently stocked in the shop. We like these sets for their portability which is ideal for on the go adventures like picnics, museum visits, day trips, or traveling afar.

SHOP FAVORITE: MOLESKINES

As we previously mentioned a few weeks ago in this post, we recently started stocking Moleskine Notebooks in our shop. We are big fans of these handy, portable, and seemingly non-destructable notebooks. We love that the hardcover notebooks lay flat and that the soft cover notebooks are very flexible. But most of all we love the variety of paper styles: watercolor, sketch, ruled, graph, and plain. What more could we want! :-)
