Hooray! They're here! We just got in the full range of 100 colors of the Holbein Duo Aqua Oil Paints! We are very excited about this and we hope you are too. We have had many requests for water-soluble oil colors and we are so happy that, now with our recent store expansion, we can finally find room to stock these versatile paints.
Water-soluble oil paints are a great way to experience the richness of oil colors without the unhealthy odors and messy clean up. Duo Aqua Oils are artist grade colors suspended in a water-soluble cold-pressed linseed oil and can be thinned and cleaned up with water. They offer an excellent lightfast rating similar to that of traditional oil colors and are compatible with traditional oil colors, watercolors, acrylics and gouache. (Please note: when mixing these paints with traditional oil color, water solubility will be lost when exceeding 30% traditional oil color in the mixture.)
